"Brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want something badly enough. They are there to keep out the οther people."

Randy Pausch

Bertolt Brecht

War is like love; it always finds a way.

Karl Kraus

How is the world ruled and how do wars start? Diplomats tell lies to journalists and then believe what they read.

A.J. Muste

We cannot have peace if we are only concerned with peace. War is not an accident. It is the logical outcome of a certain way of life. If we want to attack war, we have to attack that way of life.

Henry Ford

Show me who makes a profit from war, and I'll show you how to stop the war.

Herodotus

In peace, sons bury their fathers; in war, fathers bury their sons.

BERTRAND RUSSELL

War does not determine who is right -- only who is left.

Abraham Flexner

Probably, no nation is rich enough to pay for both war and civilization. We must make our choice; we cannot have both.

Aeschylus

In war, truth is the first casualty.

Desiderius Erasmus

War is delightful to those who have had no experience of it

Desiderius Erasmus

The most disadvantageous peace is better than the most just war.

Gian Jacopo Trivulzio

To carry on war, three things are necessary: money, money, and yet more money.

Niccolo Machiavelli

Wars begin when you will, but they do not end when you please.

John Milton

What does not destroy me, makes me strong.

"Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for."

Epicurus

"You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships everyday. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity."

Mongol General: Hao! Dai ye! We won again! This is good, but what is best in life?

Mongol: The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair.

Mongol General: Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?

Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

Mongol General: That is good! That is good.
