The lust of the goat is the bounty of God.

The wrath of the lion is the wisdom of God.

The nakedness of woman is the work of God.

A man should never be ashamed to own he has been wrong, which is but saying, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.

Alexander Pope

Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.

Alexander Pope

I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.

Sir Winston Churchill

I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me.

Sir Winston Churchill

Misogynist: A man who hates women as much as women hate one another.

H. L. Mencken

There is no reciprocity. Men love women, women love children, children love hamsters.

Alice Thomas Ellis

Religion is about turning untested belief into unshakeable truth through the power of institutions and the passage of time.

Richard Dawkins,

Women need a reason to have sex. Men just need a place.

Billy Crystal

There's nothing sooner dry than women's tears.

John Webster

If women didn't exist, all the money in the world would have no meaning.

Aristotle Onassis

America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between.

Oscar Wilde

Truth, in matters of religion, is simply the opinion that has survived.

Oscar Wilde

The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it.

Oscar Wilde

If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Oscar Wilde

Life is too important to be taken seriously.

Oscar Wilde

One should always be in love. That is the reason one should never marry.

Oscar Wilde

Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much.

Oscar Wilde

Religion is the masterpiece of the art of animal training, for it trains people as to how they shall think.

Arthur Shopenhauer

Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.

Aristotle

Poverty is the parent of revolution and crime.

Aristotle

To perceive is to suffer.

Aristotle

Nature does nothing uselessly.

Aristotle

Well begun is half done.

Aristotle

Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something.

Plato

Necessity, who is the mother of invention.

Plato

Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation. It is the opium of the people.

Karl Marx

If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

Albert Einstein

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Albert Einstein

I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.

Albert Einstein

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Albert Einstein

As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so life well used brings happy death.

Friedrich Nietzsche

God is dead.

Friedrich Nietzsche

What does not kill me, makes me stronger.

Friedrich Nietzsche

God is a comedian playing to an audience too afraid to laugh.

Voltaire

If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.

Voltaire

It is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong.

Voltaire

Historical justice forces me to admit that among all the enemies who stand against us, the Greek soldier above all, fought with the most courage. He surrendered himself only when the continuation of resistance was not possible any longer, and when he had no reason not to... However, he fought so bravely, that even his enemies can not deny their respect for him... Thus, the Greek prisoners of war were released immediately, having in mind the heroic stance of these soldiers.

Adolph Hitler, Reichstag, 4 May 1941

Hence we will not say that Greeks fight like heroes, but that heroes fight like Greeks.

Sir Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

The Russian people will always be grateful to the Greeks for delaying the German army long enough for winter to set in, thereby giving us the precious time we needed to prepare. We will never forget.

Joseph Stalin, in an open letter read frequently on Radio Moscow during the war

- Πως θα εξηγούσατε σε ενα παιδί τι είναι ευτυχία ;

Of all the frictional resistances, the one that most retards human movement is ignorance.

Nicola Tesla

Jonathan held in thought an image of the great gull-flocks on the shore of another time, and he knew with practiced ease that he was not bone and feather...but a perfect idea of freedom and flight, limited by nothing at all.

Richard Bach’s Johnathan Livingston Seagull

A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any other human invention in history…

…with the possible exception of handguns and tequila.

Mitch Ratcliffe

I like the stars…it’s the illusion of permanence.

I can pretend that things last...that lives last longer than moments.

- Neil Gaiman's Sandman:Brief Lives

To die, to sleep – to sleep, perchance to dream – ay, there’s the rub.

For in that sleep what dreams may come.

William Shakespeare

"All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy.

That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day."

The Joker in Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke

Neither a man nor a crowd nor a nation can be trusted to act humanely, or to think sanely, under the influence of a great fear.

Bertrand Russell

Whoever undertakes to judge in the field of truth and knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the Gods.

Albert Einstein

The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. The opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth.

Niels Bohr

What ought one to say then as each hardship comes? I was practicing for this, I was training for this.
