Asetek Uses Liquid Cooling to Overclock Your Laptop’s Processor and GPU

      Guest

Serious PC enthusiasts usually stay away from laptops as primary systems because of the form-factor's extremely limited cooling capabilities. But what if you could install an aftermarket liquid cooling solution that [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]promises your overclocking efforts won't result in enough heat to boil water on your laptop? That's what Asetek's slim form-factor liquid cooling technology aims to do, with an interconnected system designed to cool both the CPU and GPU at optimal levels depending on which component needs it most. A liquid cooled cold plate replaces the traditional heat pipe heat sinks for less thermal resistance.
Asetek was able to successfully overclock a stock Intel Core i7 2920XM 3.5 GHz CPU and dual AMD Radeon HD 6990M GPUs running at 680MHz into stable clock speeds of 4.4GHz for the CPU and 800MHz for the two Radeons. It would be interesting if Asetek also released the temperature readings as well, but perhaps future demonstrations might include those. As indicated the video below, this technology could be geared more towards massive notebooks with cutting-edge mobile hardware. Is this the cooling solution that mobile overclockers have been waiting for? We'll find out once Asetek releases this intriguing cooling technology in the near future.

      NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Review

      Guest

How do you follow up on Fermi? That’s the question we had going into NVIDIA’s press briefing for the GeForce GTX 680 and the Kepler architecture earlier this month. With Fermi NVIDIA not only captured the[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK] performance crown for gaming, but they managed to further build on their success in the professional markets with Tesla and Quadro. Though it was a very clearly a rough start for NVIDIA, Fermi ended up doing quite well in the end.
So how do you follow up on Fermi? As it turns out, you follow it up with something that is in many ways more of the same. With a focus on efficiency, NVIDIA has stripped Fermi down to the core and then built it back up again; reducing power consumption and die size alike, all while maintaining most of the aspects we’ve come to know with Fermi. The end result of which is NVIDIA’s next generation GPU architecture: Kepler.
Launching today is the GeForce GTX 680, at the heart of which is NVIDIA’s new GK104 GPU, based on their equally new Kepler architecture. As we’ll see, not only has NVIDIA retaken the performance crown with the GeForce GTX 680, but they have done so in a manner truly befitting of their drive for efficiency.

SF3D OC Triple Point - New Ln2 pot for memory

      Guest

Container is designed by Finnish extreme overclocker Petri Korhonen (SF3D) and it is produced in Poland by another extreme overclocker Marcin Rywak (ryba). The new liquid nitrogen cooler for[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK] memory modules is called SF3D OC Triple Point. This product will bring fresh innovations to memory cooling and take it to the level it belongs.
For example mounting mechanism is completely new, so you can use all types of memory modules since DDR1 era to latest DDR3 products. Now you can connect the memory module directly to LN2 cooler, so you don't need to use stock heatsink with very bad thermal transfer abilities.
You can use up to 4* memory modules at once.
Triple Point cooling comes with the following bundle:
      - Full solid main block (aluminium for easy temperature control)
      - Cooling plates for memory modules (4 plates in each set fit for all memory types)
      - Mounting screws
      - Insulation (Armaflex mat)
*For quad channel operation you need to use 2 sets of Triple Point LN2 cooler.
