Hard Reset Announced for the PC

It is sad to say, but there simply aren't too many PC-exclusive games of any kind. We may have StarCraft 2, The Witcher series, and a wealth of MMOs, but it is hard to find a title that isn't [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]multi-platform. Today, a new PC-exclusive game has been announced from the folks at Flying Wild Hog. The game is called Hard Reset, and if you haven't heard of it before, well, you aren't alone. The game is being released this September and it is a "dark sci-fi" FPS, sort of a blend of Painkiller, Blade Runner, and The Matrix. The game's creators hail from studios you've probably heard of, like CD Projekt RED, People Can Fly, and City Interactive. Those three studios brought us The Witcher series, Painkiller, and Sniper: Ghost Warrior, which then had some members leave to form Flying Wild Hog. The studio's first project is Hard Reset, which sounds like it will be a lot of fun when it releases in a couple of months.

The game uses a proprietary engine built by Flying Wild Hog, so we should be seeing more games down the road using it. It's called "Road Hog" and looks mighty impressive from the screenshots. As for the story, there is only one human city remaining after a hostile robot force annihilated much of the world. You play as Major Fletcher and it is up to you to defeat the robot army. Hard Reset is coming out in September, and although pricing has not been announced, it seems like it'll be worth a shot.
