    Doom Gameplay Unveiled at QuakeCon 2014, First Details Emerge, Multiplayer Confirmed - MP1st

    According to Tweets from the show floor, the rebooted shooter will be build on the if tech 6 engine and will run at 1080p and 60 frames per seconds. Combat will show a heavy focus on gory melee attacks.
    Doom is an origin game. Fast paced combat. Set outside of UAC research facility on Mars being invaded be forces of evil.

    Today’s Doom reveal is focused on showcasing combat. New cyber demon concept art shown.

    Melee combat is a big part of the new Doom.

    Doom is built on id tech 6, 1080p 60 fps. Single player demo today.

    Demo is now on. Inside UAC facility. Lots of particles and lava. Heavy Melee combat, ripping out body parts MK style.

    Forget key cards. Player just ripped arm off guard to scan his fingers on a hand scanner.

    Chainsaw acquired. New level of gore unlocked.

    First combat mechanic: demons. Mechanical, corrupt, hell knights.

    Doom will focus on high-speed movement and run-and-gun. Just like the old days.

    multiplayer is confirmed for Doom.

    Doom is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC but not before a public beta takes place to which any one who pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order will have access.

    absol_89: Will there be night time maps, because the city environments are filled with streetlights, more map variety

    Papooutsis: Yes, there will be a night time map. Lots of variety in multiplayer — maps and modes.

    Avj_24: will there be jets or a water based map?

    Papoutsis: We have prop planes and water maps yes!

    That_Sony_FREAK: Will maps be more vehicle based like high tension or is it just that map.

    Papoutsis: The game is about 50/50 vehicle/on foot focused.

    Modes

    absol_89 Will there be a VIP escort mode, like a mobile version of hostage or vip scenario depending on atkrs/dfndrs

    Papoutsis: We have our take on this type of mode which fits in with the cops and criminals fantasy of Hardline.

    alainshihime: will the classic battlefield modes be available such as rush and conquest?

    Papoutsis: We have two classic modes returning including Turf War, our take on Conquest, more to come soon.

    dcowboys4life24: is there going to be a game mode like conquest or one with the same name.

    Papoutsis: In Hardline we call it Turf War and we’ve added some twists that we’ll be talking about soon.

    blairimus: will we be seeing varied objectives depending on the map for the heist game mode ie. bank vault, safes etc

    Papoutsis: Yes, Heist will be themed to the specific map you’re playing on.

    JackyRecker: Will there be 64 player servers? How big are the other maps as compared to the beta map?

    Papoutsis: We will have 64 player maps. Map sizes vary, we have larger maps than High Tension, and smaller. Good variety to mix things up.

    WilmarLuna: How is the hotwire game mode going to work? Are we going to see anything like the upcoming Rainbow6 game?

    Papoutsis: Hotwire is looking promising. We’re having a blast with it. We have some competitive modes we’ll be showing soon.

    Classes

    DeadSyncPS4: Loadouts are a BIG part of BF. Any plans to include loadout presets with in-game integration (not just Battlelog)?

    Papoutsis: Yes, absolutely. Planning to support loadout presets in-game.

    deadide00: are the classes final? They’re basically copy/paste bf4 classes.

    Papoutsis: We are making some tweaks to classes based on feedback from the beta. Balancing, renaming, this will continue up to launch.

    deadside00: Will the character models for the classes be changed? Criminal models are kinda generic/lame

    Papoutsis: Yes, we’re going to be changing and improving the models (and everything else as we final the game)

    Weapons

    fretz07: how many weapons will you be able to use per class?

    Papoutsis: Around 12 weapons per class.

    gen_kacl_oneil: will the M1911 be in hardline?

    Papoutsis: Yes. M1911 confirmed.

    KHodgDog: I didn’t get to play the beta (I’m on xbox). What snipers are in the game besides the R700(think that’s what it is)

    Papoutsis: We have 3 other bolt actions and 4-semi auto sniper rifles.

    ntsmusic9: Will the MP5 be in the game? Will there be a dino mode?

    Papoutsis: Yes, the MP5 is in the game… and you’ll just have to wait and see

    ZengarenTaloven: Do you plan to just include conventional weapons that already exist or will the criminals use improvised weapons?

    Papoutsis: Both.

    COMMANDER APP:

    -Various bug fixes

    GENERAL:

    -Fix for an issue where players were able to duplicate Battle Pickups by repeatedly picking up a kit

    -Fix for an issue where field upgrades would stop working after one round when players had reached the max field upgrade level

    -Fix for a crash that could occur when a player left a round

    -Added a 15 seconds warm-up timer for all Official games

    -Created a user interface for tweaking the joystick dead zone on PC because the lack of it was preventing some players to use their joysticks

    -Fix for an issue that prevented players to issue squad order around capture points during the sandstorm on Gulf of Oman

    -Option added for double tap forward to sprint (when on foot)

    GRAPHICAL:

    VEHICLES:

    -Removed the boost button press to turn off boost for vehicles, boost should be turned off by releasing the accelerator, this makes it consistent with soldier sprint and helps using vehicle boost easier (for joystick)

    -Adjusted the PWC physics so it drives/controls more nicely in all water levels

    -Option added for double tap forward to boost (when driving a vehicle)

    WEAPONS:

    -Fix for an issue where a weapon would flail wildly after a player would die

    -Removed the 2nd set of shell that are visible in the speed loader when reloading the M412 revolver

    -Fix for the Hawk Shotgun missing “pump action” animation in 3rd person while crouching

    -Fix for RPG-7 rocket remaining visible in the launcher after the last shot is fired while zoomed in

    -Fixed the bipod animations for MTAR-21

  9. New details on Farcry 4: Map Size, Blood Dragon 2,extreme mode, PS4 co op, etc - NeoGAF

    -The map size is relatively the same square footage of Far Cry 3′s rook island, however due to the mountainous regions, the map is far more dense than FC3.

    -The team behind Far Cry views the games as more of a series than a franchise, as it doesn’t need to worry about narrative baggage. This factors in to what Dean Evans and his team are doing. It might not be blood dragon 2, but rather something unexpected

    -When asked about temperature, Hutchinson said he would love to make an extreme far cry game akin to what the modding community might come up with. His ideas were you get hypothermia when in cold water, you contract diseases when certain animals bite you, permadeath, etc. However, the main game doesn’t have anything to do with these hardcore options, the team might consider making a mode for it if there is interest.

    -No sharks in FC4…. but there are Demon Fish, and honey badgers.

    -Thin air is a factor in some mountainous areas. You need to have oxygen in these areas, and you do not have much of it.

    -There is an avalanche setpiece in the game, but players can not trigger them freely.

    -When a player buys the PS4/PS3 version of FC4, they will get around 10 tickets called “Keys to Kyrat”,that you can give to friends. They will be able to download a limited version of FC4 that has all the co op content and everything but the single player content. They will only be able to play the limited version if you are playing the main version of FC4. Hutchinson is not sure, but Sony might implement a time box.

    -No splitscreen co op.

    -There is a competitive multiplayer in FC4. No details were given. The team views FC3 mp as unsuccessful, but are using lessons they learned to hopefully build a fanbase with FC4′s mp.

    -You will unlock the wingsuit pretty early into the game

    -In some of the games cinematics, players can interupt them with actions, however they player will not have a prompt to do so. These will be hidden. This was made to address Far Cry 3′s QTE boss fights. Also, it sounds like there are no QTE’s in FC4.

    -You can throw grenades through enemy car windows while you are driving, and drive away

    -Flame spreading still in FC4.

    -Hutchinson had lots of ideas to use poop as a weapon, like using it to coat arrows to make poison… team said no.

    -You can turn off the HUD, and each element of the UI, like XP feedback, etc. Designed with the next gen consoles sharing features in mind.

    -There are multiple endings, but they are less clear than far cry 3, so not press LT for good ending, RT for bad.

    -You can pick sides with the different factions, and this will effect relationships with different characters, and can effect the endings.

    -You can reset outposts, but the team is giving a narrative reason for it.
