So far, only the i7 920 processors will undergo the stepping change while i7 940 and 965 remain unchanged.The main reason for the change is not revealed but one of the cosmetic change stated is the ink swatch where the IHS covered the marked serial number partially. Intel states that the electrical, mechanical and thermal specifications remain within the current specifications. Enthusiasts will definitely be eager to see if the new stepping improves overclockability.However, a BIOS update is needed to identify the D-0 step processor correctly since the CPUID will be changed from 0x000106A4 to 0x000106A5 and the S-Spec is changed from SLBCH to SLBEJ. Chris123 Φεβρουάριος 1, 2009 #2 Κοινοποίηση Φεβρουάριος 1, 2009 Ουσιαστικά καμία αλλαγή , αλλά επιβεβαιώνομαι στο ότι θα ήταν έξυπνο να περιμένουμε λίγο για να δούμε πως θα εξελιχθεί η νέα αυτή σειρά cpu και η πλατφόρμα που την υποστηρίζει ! Είναι μια επαναστατική κίνηση της intel που αλλάζει τα δεδομένα (τέλος fsb , τέλος dual channel κλπ) και νομίζω ότι χρειάζεται να ωριμάσει ............
