NFS C: Patch 1.3 released

Electronic Arts recently released a new patch for Need for Speed Carbon, which updates the game to version 1.3. If you intend to play online, you must upgrade using this patch failure to do so will prevent you from racing online.

The patch contains the following updates:

* Addresses issue with the online authentication screen

* Allows for consistent use of EA Messenger

* Updates to address a leaderboard issue during Online Pursuit Tag

* Allows for full friend searching functionality

* Updates to address launching issues between XP and 2K

Στην αρχή που σου λέει Loading και μετά Click to continue γράφει πάνω δεξιά την έκδοση... Λογικά έχεις την 1.2...

Ααααααα, λέγανε από πάνω για εκδόσεις 1.2, 1.3 κλπ. και νόμιζα ότι κι εσύ αυτό ψάχνεις...

Αυτό είναι προφανές νομίζω... Εκτός αν η collector's δε γράφει στην αρχή ότι είναι αυτή που είναι... Οπότε πήγαινε π.χ. στο www.nfsunlimited.net και δες τη λίστα με τα αυτοκίνητα που έχει εξτρά η collector's και τέλειωσε το θέμα...

Γεια σας παιδιά είμαι καινούριος στο φόρουμ... Έχω ένα ψιλοπρόβλημα ... Στο NFS Carbon το εφε motion blur ενώ το βλέπω στα options είναι πάντα off και δεν γίνεται να το αλλάξω. Κατέβασα τους τελευταίους drivers αλλά και πάλι τπτ ... Η κάρτα μου είναι η ATI RADEON x850 Sapphire με 256ΜΒ εσωτερική. Ξέρω ότι αυτή ήταν καλή γύρω στον περασμένο Μάιο αλλά ... έλεος ... δεν νομίζω ότι πάλιωσε τόσο ωστέ να μην μπορεί να ανταπεξέλθει. Τι λέτε και εσείς?

τι το θες? εμενα δε μαρεσει...ουτε το αλλο το τελευταιο μαρεει δε θυμαμαι πως το λενε κανει τα χρωματα πιο μπλε και σκοτηνα ...βλακιες...ασε που ετσι κερδιζω και fps...

Τι το θές το Motion blur?ρίχνει πολύ τα fps κ δεν κάνει κ τίποτα σπουδαίο...

Εμένα η 7600GS χτυπάει άπό 30 με 35 fps χωρίς αυτό...ενώ όταν το ενεργοποιήσω τα fps φτάνουν με το ζόρι τα 20...!συμπέρασμα(κατ' εμέ) :κλειστό το Motion blur και ενεργοποιημένο το antialaising στο 4x....

Εγώ έχω άλλο πρόβλημα...στα speedtrap δεν μου εμφανίζει στο δρόμο τα σημεία που έχει speedtrap με αποτέλεσμα να πρέπει να κοιτάω το χάρτη κά8ε τρεις κ λίγο (ακόμα πιό ενοχλητικό είναι το γεγονός οτι αυτά εμφανίζονται κανονικά σε μια 5200......τι να πεις τώρα...)

Κ μια ερώτηση...σας την έσπασε καθόλου που δεν είχε κουμπί να κοιτάζεις προς τα πίσω...?

ναι αυτο λεω...(virtual treatment) χρησιμοποιεις σπεεδ τραπ? εγω ουτε στο μοστ γουοντηντ το χρησημοποιουσα... πολι λαλακια...δε μαρεσει...ασε που πρεπει να εισαι και ελεινος για να μη μπορεισ να οδηγησεις αυτοκινητο σε παιχνιδι αρκεηντ...

The graphic-platform CGSociety published a new feature article: an Artist Profile about Neil Eskuri, the Senior Art Director at Electronic Arts, who worked lately at Need for Speed: Carbon. He takes some time out to discuss the challenge of generating streets, cars, people, the effects, lighting and the cityscapes, all populating one of the most spectacular driving games on offer.

Excerpt:

With all the platforms on which the game was going to be produced for, it was decided to keep the time of day at night to simplify multiple lighting scenarios. The art direction was to keep things as dark as possible and use lighting to help guide the player's eye down the tracks. Neil uses the term 'Jewels of Color' to highlight the buildings and environment with color to contrast the darker areas. They also tried to use the car's headlights to light up the road so the player would have a better sense of nighttime and speed.

NFS CarbonAs the different platform requirements were complex and the timeframe to produce the game was very tight, the EA team on NFS:Carbon was pretty big. The number was 170+ for the entire project. Neil Eskuri focused mostly on the worlds, FMV/NIS, animation and cars and had a great support team. Each of those areas had specialists. Within worlds we have people who specialize on the road splines and side terrain to make good exciting drives, he explains. Also, there were those who focus on the creation of the cities and environments. For the FMV and NIS, just organizing the stage shoot was a speciality. Of course, animation is a focus for the NIS characters and police along with the in-game character cut-aways. The camera presentation also had a specialist that involved the coordination of several groups. Since the cars are the main stars in a driving game we have a whole department focused strictly on the creation of the 50+ cars in the game.

If you are interested in graphics, this article is worth reading anyway, but I suggest everybody to read it, if you want to get more behind the scenes footage from the development of NFS Carbon.
