Το αναφέρω ότι είναι κλειδωμένος. Αλλά εντάξει, θα βγάλει άλλα δύο μοντέλα Athlons, δεν μπορούσε να έχει unlocked το μικρό μοντέλο, διότι ποιος θα πλήρωνε για τα ακριβότερα; Μπορεί το 220GE να έχει Turbo και το 240GE να είναι και unlocked.

Well, here’s the actual roadmap, which was probably meant to be posted with the original article, but instead we saw an outdated one.

The article at XFastest has been updated and the story has changed.

 

According to the new roadmap, Intel will in fact launch 9th Gen Core series this quarter, most likely in September, so just as it was rumored.

It appears that in Q1 2019 Intel will launch more parts, but the K series and i5-9400 should already be available.

Intel 9th Gen Core in Q1 2019?

According to the slides posted by Xfastest, Intel’s 8-core series will not be available till next year, which is rather surprising. I must say though, that we have absolutely no idea if these roadmaps are the latest ones from Intel. The presentation, however, does look rather fresh and official.

 

It does appear that Core i7-8700K will be the flagship model until next year. With absolutely nothing new in the channel till the first quarter of 2019.

 

The only question is, why did Intel list some 9th Gen Core parts in official documents just this month, if they are coming so late? Have the plans changed, or it was a very unfortunate mistake?

Intel has problems with 10nm and moves volume production towards 2019

In extra notes that originate from Intels quarterly figures it looks like Intel is fighting 10nm production, according to the publication of the quarterly figures of the company it will start production in 2019. 

Intel will, however, be releasing release 10nm processors this year, however only in small quantities reports dutch website tweakers. High volume shipments has been moved towards 2019, a fact that can be read back in notes of the quarterly figures. Intel started in September 2014 with the release of its 14nm processors, although the mass production of 14nm started in 2015. It is not known what causes the delay of the 10nm production.

Graphic card makers see shipments decline by 40% in April

Yep, that's what happens when you do not release new graphics cards for way too long and keep relying on mining sales. Taiwan-based graphics card makers including Gigabyte Technology, Micro-Star International (MSI) and TUL are expected to see their shipments for April plunge over 40% on month.

Intel confirms Z390 & X399 chipsets

The Z390 and the rest of 300-series chipsets will support Coffee Lake (CFL) and Cannon Lake (CNL) CPUs, according to Intel document.

The document also revealed Cannon Lake and Coffee Lake series (HEDT) designed for X399 chipset. Intel was expected to skip this codename as it was already taken by AMD for the first-generation Threadripper.

The file would, therefore, suggest that both Z390 and X399 are coming soon, likely around Computex, as we previously speculated.

7nm Radeon Vega Instinct reaches AMD labs

We have been talking about this chip for quite a while. The slides that we leaked back in January last year already confirmed that Vega 20 is expected in the second half of 2018. It appears that this target is more than possible. The slide also mentioned PCIe Gen4 support, but so far this has not been confirmed by AMD.

The die shrink is likely to increase the clock speed and power efficiency. This evaluation at AMD labs could be a decisive factor whether to bring 7nm Vega to Radeon RX family. It’s a reasonable step to take, as the gap in AMD gaming roadmap seems to expand without any indication of new products coming soon.
