That error screen can look a bit alarming right after putting your PC back together, but it is a completely normal security prompt following a motherboard swap.
Because you moved your Ryzen 3700X to the new Gigabyte B550 GAMING X V2, the processor's built-in security module (fTPM) recognized that the hardware environment changed. It is asking you what you want to do with the old security keys that were tied to your previous B550M DS3H motherboard.
Here is exactly what the options mean and how to proceed:
The Options Explained
Press Y (Reset fTPM): This clears the old security keys and generates new ones to match your new motherboard. This is the ideal option for a permanent hardware upgrade so your system runs normally.
Press N (Keep previous record): This tells the CPU to hold onto the old keys. The system will likely boot, but the TPM security features will be disabled on this new motherboard.
What You Should Do
The right choice depends entirely on one thing: BitLocker Drive Encryption.
1. If you DO NOT have BitLocker enabled:
If you are confident your drives aren't encrypted (which is common if you run Windows Home edition), simply press Y.
Note: When Windows boots, it might ask you to reset your login PIN because the old PIN was tied to the old motherboard's security keys. Your password will still work to log in and set a new PIN.
2. If you DO have BitLocker enabled (or aren't sure):
If your drive is encrypted, pressing Y will lock you out of your hard drive unless you have the 48-digit BitLocker Recovery Key saved somewhere (like on a USB drive or in your Microsoft Account).
Press N for now. Boot into Windows, find your BitLocker recovery key or temporarily disable BitLocker, and then restart your computer. When this screen pops up again, you can safely press Y.
